The Sound Room – a joint project of the Reading Eagle, WEEU Broadcasting Company and Pretzel City Productions – is an intimate studio space that has been created in the Fourth and Court streets headquarters of WEEU 830 AM, Berks County’s only locally owned and operated commercial radio station.
With vintage audio equipment serving as the backdrop, artists perform mini-concerts in front of an intimate studio audience that are recorded and archived for The Sound Room’s video and audio series. This opportunity allows emerging and established musicians to share their music for the purpose of self-promotion. It also gives the world a sampling of their talent.
The sessions are recorded using high-fidelity camera and audio equipment. Artists performing at The Sound Room receive an incredible package of media including a LIVE session as a part of the Sound Room’s video series, and an appearance on The Sound Room’s weekly radio show. Select artists may also receive exposure in the Reading Eagle newspaper. A YouTube link of each performance will be given to all artists for use of sharing on social media, to book future gigs, etc.
Limited free studio tickets are available for each performance in The Sound Room. Those interested in being a part of the live studio audience are suggested to request their tickets as early as possible.
WEEU is proud to have hosted such names as Frank Sinatra and Taylor Swift in our studio in downtown Reading, PA. We look forward to hosting you. Come one, come all and experience The Sound Room!
