Dave Kline is the co-creator and executive producer of the Sound Room space and the Sound Room radio and video series. An award-winning producer, singer-songwriter, composer, impresario, writer, photographer, videographer, entertainer, radio, live theater, television and Internet broadcaster and performer, Dave’s career has spanned more than 50 years. He is the producer and host of the weekly, syndicated Mountain Folk radio & Web show that had been on the air for more than 37 years. He is the president of WEEU Radio and Pretzel City Productions, LLC, and is also the executive director of Reading Eagle Company’s promotions and circulation. As a voting member of the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, the International Bluegrass Music Association and the Americana Music Association, Dave works with and truly loves nurturing the talent of others for the purpose helping to further careers, sharing talent with audiences and working to make the community and the world a better place through the entertainment industry, music and the arts.
Andrew Roulston is the Sound Engineer in The Sound Room during LIVE performances and Producer of “The Sound Room” radio show on WEEU 830AM. He also is the main contact for scheduling sessions with artists/bands. When asked what he likes most about his involved with The Sound Room, Andrew replies “The Sound Room is special to me, because it showcases musicians in such a unique way. The artist is able to have intimate interactions with their audience, and from that, create an amazing musical product. The Sound Room proves that there’s talent all around us, and it’s not hard to find.” You can also meet Andrew all around town when he is traveling with WEEU to all the LIVE broadcasts in our community.
Don Botch is a journalist for the Reading Eagle and often covers stories on artists/bands that perform in The Sound Room. “It was an eye-opening experience a few years back when I stumbled upon a pretty cool local rock scene that made me realize I could get my live-music fix right here in Berks County instead of driving to Philadelphia or New York” Don recalls. He supports the efforts of The Sound Room as an outlet for deserving artists to receive much exposure that can help fuel their career. Writing articles on these artists/bands is a way that Don feels he is doing his part to support them on their journey. Don encourages everyone to check out some of the video archives on The Sound Room site. He believes “You might be surprised by what you discover”.
Natalie Kolb is a videographer, photographer and video editor for The Sound Room. She is an avid lover of all things music–especially getting to watch musicians perform their talent live. She is always happy and full of energy to lend a hand in The Sound Room and utilize her talent to help musicians receive additional exposure.
Jeremy Drey is a co-creator, videographer, photographer and video editor of the The Sound Room video series. As the series started and progressed, he helped shape the stylings of the video with Ben Hasty. A music lover, meeting the artists and seeing the passion they put into their work is invigorating. Capturing their performances gives him a greater appreciation for their craft. Jeremy is also a photographer and multimedia journalist for the Reading Eagle covering events all over Berks County daily.
Ben Hasty is the Assistant Photography Editor for the Reading Eagle, and is part of the team that shoots and edits the video and still photos from the Sound Room sessions. Ben is one of the founders of The Sound Room, and is excited to see how an idea he helped create has grown over the years.
